This is an imperfect picture. I couldn’t get my camera to focus. I couldn’t seem to avoid the sprinklers. But in this city, there’s just so much beauty here. So much light the heart can carry.

From here, it feels like you can see the entire city. I took picture after picture, trying to get it just right, but the dark made each photo blurry. Eventually, I was able to be still enough to take this. From here, I could see the Bay Bridge and the cars move into the city, the headlights and their slow motion measured my time there. From here, I couldn’t even see the rain falling, I could only see the fog, the city lights and tiny cars and from the far distance the bridge looked tiny, it was like I could fit the entire city in the palm of my hand.
